‘Neighbours’ latest news: Cast members offer fans a glimpse of their holiday celebrations

“Neighbours” has been off the small screen for its year-ender break, and fans are definitely missing the whole gang.

For now, viewers of the long-running soap have to be content with following the social media accounts of “Neighbours” cast members. Some of them have kept fans updated with their holiday celebrations, as they take advantage of their much-deserved break.

Alan Fletcher, who plays the beloved character Karl Kennedy, shared that he watched the 1946 film “It’s A Wonderful Life,” directed by Frank Capra. “Every Christmas I watch this beautiful movie,” he wrote. “When we go the only thing we have is that which we gave away. On this Christmas Day I wish that all my friends are happy and enjoying the festive spirit. If things are not going well in your life at the moment, I hope 2017 brings hope and happiness to you.”

Meanwhile, his co-star Olympia Valance seemed to have celebrated Christmas with a glamourous photo shoot. In one photo, she’s seen wearing a black gown while appearing to drink straight from a bottle. “Sipping my way through Christmas,” she wrote. Another post showed the actress wearing a pink dress and oversized sunglasses. “Santa was good to me this year,” Olympia captioned the photo.

Olympia’s on-screen sister, Mavournee Hazel, spent the holidays with her family. The young actress, who plays Piper Willis, uploaded a photo of her family with the caption, “A photo of the four siblings together is almost as rare as a photo of Kanye smiling. It's a damn Christmas miracle . Merry Christmas y'all, sending love to everyone, whether you spent the day with your family, friends or alone- the meaning of Christmas is what you make of it . Feeling very lucky and grateful I could spend this day with the people I love most.”

“Neighbours” actress Carla Bonner, who plays Stephanie Scully, also spent time with her loved ones. “Wishing you all/ hope you've had a gorgeous day, Merry Christmas,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Zoe Cramond, who plays Steph’s close friend Amy Williams, shared a black and white photo with a New Year’s message. “See ya 2016! ..... onto bigger and better things, can't wait for 2017,” she captioned her photo.

“Neighbours” will be back on air on Jan. 9, 2017 on Channel Eleven.
