‘Neighbours’ spoilers for Aug 5: Elly reels after learning she’s pregnant, fights for her life after being bitten by a snake
“Neighbours” concludes the week with an episode that centres on a life-threatening incident at Ramsay Street. After being attacked by a venomous snake, Elly Conway’s (Jodi Anasta) life is on the line. Worse, she discovers that she’s pregnant – and the drug to combat the snake’s poison inside her body may harm the baby.
Meanwhile, it’s not only Elly’s life that is threatened by the incident. Concerned about her niece, Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) blames Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) for what happened, creating a rift between the couple. Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the Aug.5 episode include Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey), Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Mer), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel) and Sheila Canning (Colette Mann).

Channel Eleven posted a sneak peek of Friday’s episode. In the trailer, Elly writhes in pain as Steph attempts to help her. Elly is rushed to the hospital and things are looking grim. Piper reckons Elly got what she deserved, but Ben berates Piper for thinking ill about someone else.
Digital Spy reports that when Elly is brought to the hospital, her test results show that she’s pregnant. Karl informs her that she needs to take antivenin or she’ll die, but she hesitates because it might harm the baby. Left with no choice, Elly tells Karl to administer the medicine on her. According to spoilers, Elly’s condition also puts a dent on Susan and Karl’s relationship. Susan believes the snake was a form of a protest against the bike lane, a campaign that Karl started.
“Neighbours” recap
On Thursday, Alison went over to Ben’s house and he opened up to her about Xanthe. Ben revealed that he wrote a song for Xanthe. Ben asked her to be the one to give it to Xanthe, but Alison made it appear that he wrote the song for her. Xanthe was devastated, thinking that Ben already moved on. A bit later, Ben went over to Xanthe’s house to talk to her, but she acted like a jerk towards him so he walked out. Alison chased after him and said that Xanthe seemed to be getting closer with Cooper. Alison acted like a good friend and invited Ben out to take his mind off Xanthe.
Meanwhile, as Sheila was berating Xanthe after catching the teen with Cooper outside their house, Amy arrived looking upset. Xanthe asked about her date, but Amy evaded the question and went to her room. The next day, Aaron asked Amy what happened and she said she went to his room but nothing happened. Before things got further, Amy said she left Greg’s room. Aaron and Xanthe helped Amy to craft a message for Greg. Later, Amy received a call from Greg’s phone – only, it wasn’t him at all. It seemed that Greg gave her the wrong number. Amy was disheartened. Elsewhere, a video of Greg and Amy from the other night was being played. When she left the room, Greg turned to the camera and said, “Sorry boss.”
At Lassiters, a drunken Elly bumped into Greg and he invited her into his room. The next day, Charlie and Steph spotted Elly walking funnily. Elly tripped on the construction site for the new bike lane and broke her expensive shoe. Susan pushed her to complain to the council. Elly went over to the Rebecchi’s to inform Sonya about what happened and asked for compensation since the council was negligent about the site. However, Steph walked in and disputed Elly’s story, saying she wasn’t walking straight, which led to her accident. Sonya also told Elly that the area where she tripped wasn’t where the bike lane was being installed. Realising her mistake, Elly walked out.
Later, Elly confronted Steph about the earlier incident. Amid their conversation, Elly saw the snake preparing to attack Nell. Elly jumped in and save Nell just in time, but got bitten by the snake in the process.
