“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Wednesday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Toadie begs Susan to help him reach out to Sonya. “You can explain it to her,” he suggests. “You can tell her you forgave Karl after everything.” However, Susan refuses, saying that she can’t tell Sonya what to do. Susan also becomes emotional as she tells Toadie, “I love you and I want you to be happy. But what you did… I never thought you would be capable of something like that.”
Since Toadie brought Karl’s cheating incident, Susan continues, “You saw what we went through. You watched me struggle.” Toadie promises not to do anything like that again but she argues that being sorry won’t magically fix the situation. “The damage is done,” she says. “Whether you and Sonya stay together or separate, you have to realise that your relationship will never be what it was.”
Digital Spy reports that Sonya finally sits down with Toadie to discuss what will happen to their marriage. Toadie is shocked when she lays out her conditions. He also has other things to worry about – Mark seems to be blaming him for Sonya’s miscarriage. Also on March 29, Sheila acts impulsively out of fear that Terese is taking control of the Canning family.
“Neighbours” recap
On Tuesday, Mark wallowed in depression as he mourns over the death of his unborn child. His brothers came in to comfort him. Later, the memorial service was held but Toadie and Karl were stuck in traffic and weren’t able to make it on time. Toadie decided to run all the way to Ramsay Street but it was too late – the ceremony was over. He walked over to Sonya and apologised but she just looked at him blankly and walked off with Mark in tow.
Later, Toadie went home and asked Sonya to talk but she continued ignoring him. He tried to follow her but Mark stopped him and said that Sonya doesn’t want to see him. When Toadie insisted to be with his wife, Mark ordered him to leave before he makes things worse. Tension grew between the two men before Karl intervened and pulled Toadie away. Susan, on the other hand, talked to Sonya and convinced her to talk to Toadie. They went over to the Kennedy’s where Sonya and Toadie discussed about what happened.
When Sonya asked why he cheated on her, he said he thought there’s something going on between her and Mark, making her absolutely furious. Sonya insisted that something like that just doesn’t happen, it had to be brewing for quite a while. Toadie admitted that when “Dee” arrived, old feelings started coming back. Sonya broke down and refused to listen to his explanations, before telling Toadie her dreadful decision: that their marriage is over.
Meanwhile, after seeing how attached Jack is to the community, his superior talked to the church officials and lifted Jack’s suspension. Jack can continue being a but he must focus on his day-to-day activities to rebuild the community’s trust on him. This meant that he can no longer manage special projects, such as the refugee centre, a project which he started. He also needed to move parishes so he can concentrate on his work without any distractions. When Jack refused, he was allowed to stay for now but if the backlash continues, the archbishop would be forced to stay action.
