‘Neighbours’ spoilers for Sept 30: Steph and Mark receive a life-changing offer; Paige finds herself in a compromising situation with Jack

“Neighbours” caps off the week with an emotional episode dealing with huge decisions and sacrifices. On Friday, Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) and Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey) drop the surrogacy bombshell, leaving Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner) and Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) completely shell-shocked. Spoilers suggest that they appreciate the offer but ask for some time to mull over this plan.

Meanwhile, it seems that the chapter between Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley) and Paige Smith (Olympia Valance) is not over yet, as the two have another opportunity to get closer than ever. Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the Sept. 30 episode include Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Friday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Sonya and Toadie sit down with Steph and Mark for a serious discussion. Sonya talks about their devastating situation -- having Charlie and only to have him taken away, as well as their desire to have a baby of their own but couldn't because of Steph's health issues. Sonya then continues with their surprising proposal. "I would like to offer to carry your baby as a surrogate," she says. Steph and Mark are absolutely floored after hearing Sonya's plan.

Digital Spy reports that after getting over their shock, Steph and Mark discuss about the offer. It's not an easy decision, especially for Steph, who assumes that Sonya proposed this because she doesn't think Mark and Steph's relationship would last without a child. Meanwhile, Paige is determined to turn Nikki and Jack into friends. However, in the process, Paige finds herself in an all too compromising position with Jack.

“Neighbours” recap

On Thursday, Amy confronted David, who broke into Karl’s office and fiddled into the computer. She threatened to call security, but David begged her to look for Karl instead. David then informed Karl that he’s looking for his dad. Karl decided to help him track down David’s father, and was able to secure some leads. Later, David cleared the air with Amy and they had drinks with Leo and Aaron.

Meanwhile, Brad and Lauren were practicing their wedding dance while Ned and Elly watched. Mark arrived and informed them that Jacka Hills was released on bail, and warned Ned to be vigilant. Brad and Lauren were puzzled about Mark’s word of caution. Backed into a corner, Ned confessed that the ex-girlfriend he’d been quiet about was Regan, Jacka’s wife. Brad was beside himself – he couldn’t believe that Ned made such poor choices, and that the man who killed his son Josh is now after his other child. Ned decided to stay away from Elly and his family for their safety.

Regan went to The Waterhole to see Ned and told him that they’re both in serious danger. Ned urged her to go to the cops but Regan refused. Terrified, she pleaded him to help her. Regan suggested they leave town and start a new life together. Later, Lauren dropped by the Kennedys to pass Ned’s message to Elly – that he decided to stay out of the radar for a few days and stay with his mates somewhere else. Elly, however, blew her top because Ned didn’t tell this himself. She then headed to try to stop Ned, but spotted him driving away with Regan.

Steph also feared for her own safety, worried that Jacka might exact revenge on her for lying about Ned. The whole Jacka incident made Toadie question Steph’s capability as a parent, and this increased his reservations about Sonya’s surrogacy proposal. Mark, meanwhile, opened up to Sonya about Steph. He’s scared that his girlfriend is falling off the wagon and is pushing him away. That night, Sonya and Toadie had another argument about the surrogacy issue, and it looked like they won’t see eye to eye on the matter. However, after thinking about it for a while, Toadie agreed with Sonya’s plan, making her absolutely ecstatic.
