‘Neighbours' update: Travis Burns hints of a special story for UK fans, says he’s open to do a British soap
Fans of the Australian soap “Neighbours” may have something exciting to look forward to: a possible special UK-based plot.
“Neighbours” favourite Travis Burns took to Twitter to share this news. During a question and answer with his fans, Burns said that he and his co-star Matt Wilson pitched a storyline to the writers. Burns plays Tyler Brennan in the long-running Aussie soap, while Wilson is known to be his on-screen brother, Aaron.
“Myself and @MattyWilson88 just pitched an idea for a storyline in the UK,” Burns wrote. “Hopefully they go ahead with it.” The 32-year-old Australian actor gave this answer when one fan asked if he would consider filming a one-off episode in the UK.
Burns’ character, Tyler, is currently busy with a budding romance with his best friend, Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel). The pair, which their fans dearly refer to as Typer, has finally agreed to cross the line and act on their feelings.

One thing that’s standing on their way is the age difference, which might not settle well with Piper’s parents. When asked how Tyler could prove to Brad and Terese Willis that he’s serious about their daughter, Burns was stumped. “Not too sure,” he wrote. “But he needs to do it soon!” He seemed to want his character to have an exciting relationship with Piper. “A good story I think would be us running away together, getting into all sorts of mischief,” Burns tweeted.
In addition to pitching a UK-based plot, Burns intimated that he’s also willing to do a British soap. “Always open to every opportunity,” he replied to a fan. For now, though, he’s focusing on honing his craft and acting skills on “Neighbours.
