Tension heats up between American rapper and undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. The "Hot in Herre" singer recently addressed his beef with Mayweather during his appearance on ESPN2 show "Highly Questionable," and he had some good and not so good comments about the boxer.

Nelly said that he doesn't have a "beef" with Mayweather. He said that the whole fiasco was simply a misunderstanding.

Nelly pointed out and said that even though he finds it tough, he tries to understand and relate to Mayweather's position. For Nelly, "Mayweather is who he is." He said that the word "no" sets Mayweather of, making people witness his emotional outbursts.

Then, Nelly threw a jab at Mayweather saying that it was hard to argue with someone who was a high school dropout.

"I don't know, you know, it's kinda hard talking to a guy who hasn't graduated from high school."

According to reports, Nelly and Mayweather had a beef when the boxer went ballistic about Nelly dating his ex-fiancée Shantel Jackson. TMZ wrote that Mayweather and Nelly used to hang out at various night clubs and felt "betrayed" upon learning that Jackson had easily moved on from him with one of his "close friends."

However, Nelly clarified in a statement he posted on Instagram in May that he was never friends with Mayweather. He said he was shocked to have found out the story about him and Mayweather being good friends. Nelly admitted that he had been in the same clubs that Mayweather had been into but it was just that. He said that he had never hung out with the boxer.

"I take it being called a friend and being one serious and would never do anything to jeopardize that situation if indeed that's what it is," said Nelly in the caption.
