Looks like the ratings are in and they are good. At least they are for shows like "Happy Endings," "Once Upon A Time" and "Last Man Standing."

The 3 new programs are being ordered for a full season and being given "back nine" pickups which in TV lingo means that a full 22-episode season. That's as good a sign as it can get in the very fickle world of TV land.

Most critics are stunned to see the fantasy series "Once Upon A Time" on the list considering the premise of the show is a little bit far out. It involves the idea that fairy tale characters belong in two parallel universes-fairy tale land where they belong and but also in real time where they strangely have no recollection of ever being in a children's story.

Taking into consideration that the show regularly involves costumes, witches, curses, and farfetched plots but if the formula works, ABC should have nothing to complain about.

Tim Allen's triumphant return to TV in "Last Man Standing" may have been a bore to the critics but the audience begs to differ. Perhaps Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor has been sorely missed. But this show isn't just a remake of Allen's previous series, "Home Improvement."

In this program, he's the lone male in a household full of oestrogen brought about by his wife and their three daughters, one of whom is a single mother. It would seem as if "Last Man Standing" may have been a very apt choice for a title indeed.

Lastly, "Happy Endings" is a show about a couple breaking up on their wedding day only to force their friends to choose a side in the separation. It would seem that the show has hit its stride and come back strong after a short midseason as it takes the 9 o'clock spot and partners with ABC's prime program, "Modern Family."
