New Apple iOS 6 Beta Update Released to Developers
Apple has just released the latest update for its iOS 6 beta version. This is the first update to the OS and it was released through beta form to developers.
The blog, 9to5mac was able to post a screenshot of this new update as well as important details about this update. The update did not contain new features but during the update, the icon was animated with spinning gears. This new update for iOS 6 weighs around 299MB for iPhone 4S, 322MB for iPhone 4, and 497MB for the third-generation iPad. The update is already available through over-the-air and would bring about "bug fixes and improvements". It is compatible with Apple devices such as third-generation iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the fourth-generation iPod touch.
Apple's iOS 6 was first revealed during the WWDC 2012 which was held earlier this month. During the announcement, Apple disclosed that this new software would about at least 200 new and enhanced features. Apple also pinpointed some of the more interesting features with iOS 6. Here is a list of these upcoming features:
- New 3D Map from Apple
- Introduction of Siri for other Apple devices
- Improved Facetime
- Upgraded Photo Sharing feature
- Incorporation of Application lock
- New calling features
Apple would officially release iOS 6 at the latter part of 2012. This target date is reasonable as the last iOS update, iOS 5 underwent seven beta versions before it was released to the public. This process is no different as Apple want to ensure that everything goes smoothly before releasing it to the public.
