Audi has unveiled the new Audi A3 Cabriolet. The new car is longer and wider compared to the previous model. Here is a look at the improvements made to the stunning convertible.

The new Audi A3 is longer from the previous 13.91 feet to 14.50 feet. The width has also been increased from the previous 5.81 feet to 5.87 feet. The wheel base has been increased from 8.46 feet to 8.53 feet. The new Audi A3 Cabriolet is 50 Kilograms lighter, weighing 1,365 kilograms inspite of the modifications made.

The Audi A3 cabriolet will be available in three different engines at the time of the launch - 1.4 and 1.8 litres TFSI engines and a 2.0 TDI engine. Other engines like 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TFSI are said to follow. Customers can choose from about 16 different paints for the car. The head light LED technology offers variable headlight levelling control - the only car to do so in its segment, according to the company press release.

The car is a convertible and comes with a soft cloth roof top. The soft top opens and closes with a press of a button using the electro-hydraulic system. The whole process takes less than 18 seconds. The soft roof top electro-hydraulic system also works while the customer is driving the new Audi A3 Cabriolet. The conversion can be made in speeds of up to 50 Km/h. The soft roof top rests in a tray at the back and does not affect the luggage capacity.

The luggage capacity of the new Audi A3 Cabriolet has been increased by 60 litres or 2.2 cubic feet. A fully automatic acoustic top is also available as an alternative; it reduces the interior noise level by using a thicker inner foam layer.The interiors of the Audi A3 Cabriolet are simply stunning. The instrument panel is slightly curved and the console at the centre is angled towards the driver to provide easier access. A new feature offers a touch sensitive switch for reading lights.

The car comes with four seats; the two at the back are foldable to make room for extra luggage. The parking is convenient with a push button parking brake located at the centre console.The driver assistance system in the Audi A3 Cabriolet comes packed with good features like adaptive cruise control, Audi side assist, Audi active lane assist, camera-based traffic sign recognition and park assist.

The WLAN in the Audi A3 Cabriolet lets passengers surf the internet. Internet services from Audi connect gives access to applications like Google Street View Facebook and Twitter. It also provides traffic information and information about available parking spaces in underground parking garages and parking lots.

The base price for the 1.4 TFSI engine Audi A3 Cabriolet is approximately $ 45000.
