New 'Danganronpa V3' characters revealed: Ultimate Artist, Ultimate Magician and more
New “Danganronpa V3” characters have been revealed. This time around, fans can get their glimpse on the Ultimate Anthropologist, Ultimate Aikido Master, Ultimate Maid, Ultimate Child Caregiver, Ultimate Tennis Pro, Ultimate Astronaut, Ultimate Magician and Ultimate Artist. With this, the roster of students is now complete and the remainder of the character reveals will presumably be that of the game’s antagonist, Monokuma, and his children, the Monokuma Kubs.
The characters who were previously revealed included Tsumugi Shirogane (Ultimate Cosplayer), Shuichi Saihara (Ultimate Detective), Gonta Gokuhara (Ultimate Entomologist), K1-B0 (Ultimate Robot), Kokichi Oma (Ultimate Supreme Leader), Miu Iruma (Ultimate Inventor) and the game’s protagonist, Kaede Akamatsu (Ultimate Pianist). There is also Rantaro Amami, but his Ultimate title is still unknown and shrouded in mystery. Completing the roster are Korekiyo Shinguji (Ultimate Anthropologist), Tenko Chabashira (Ultimate Aikido Master), Kirumi Tojo (Ultimate Maid), Maki Harukawa (Ultimate Child Caregiver), Ryoma Hoshi (Ultimate Tennis Pro), Kaito Momota (Ultimate Astronaut), Himiko Yumeno (Ultimate Magician) and Angie Yonaga (Ultimate Artist).
For the uninitiated, the “Danganronpa” series follows a class of students (who are each Ultimates in their respective fields) being pitted against one another thanks to evil robot bear Monokuma. The students are tasked to kill one another; after every death, a Class Trial is held to figure out who the culprit is. If the class figures out who the killer is, then the guilty party is later terminated. However, if the class hands down a guilty verdict to the wrong classmate, then the actual killer will be able to walk free, signalling a game over.
“V3” will be the first “Danganronpa” entry that will be made available on a home console (specifically, the PlayStation 4), as other titles (such as “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc” and “Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair”) were released on handheld platforms such as the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. Additionally, “V3” is also the first new game outside of the Hope’s Peak High School saga. The aforementioned story wrapped up in an anime called “Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School.” It was split into three parts: the Despair arc, which was a prequel of the first “Danganronpa” game and followed the class featured in “Goodbye Despair;” the Future arc, which was the actual sequel to the games; and the Hope arc, which was the ultimate conclusion to the Hope’s Peak High School saga.
