The Invitation for Apple's special event on Oct. 22 is out and as usual, it tells of the big picture in hindsight but offers nothing but thrilling glimpses before the products are finally announced.

If you look closely at the iPhone invitation from September 2013, it promised that "this should brighten everyone's day." In retrospect, this referred to new colors and lower cost iPhones. What we did not anticipate ahead of time is the grey circles that were likely designed to introduce the Touch ID.

Another invitation to look into is Apple's Oct. 23, 2012 special event. It said, "We've got a little more to show you." This was where the iPad mini was introduced. Colours surrounded the Apple logo and that was the time the new Macbook Pro and iMacs were launched.

The latest invitation tells us, "We still have a lot to cover." The Apple logo's leaf is in white and the leaf motif is repeated across the image in multiple colours. Will Apple introduce the new iPad mini in different colours? Will it have detachable keyboards? Are we to see the return of coloured Macs?

Will Apple offer free iWork with all new iPads and Macs in conjunction with iWork in cloud as it seeks to hold on to the enterprise market?

Will Apple launch a 4K display to go with the Mac Pro? It can be the affordable computer with the highest resolution on the market soon. Since professionals mostly use MacBook Pro as their main computer, it is reasonable to offer a high-resolution display on its portable Macs.

Along with the introduction of new Macs might be the launch of Apple's new OS, Mavericks. The company is keen on managing an ecosystem that can support its future television projects (ultraHD movie rental and download service, to name a few) and so it is likely that the iPads and perhaps iPhones will also transition to higher Retina Display resolution. Though an iPad's Retina display exceeds HD TVs', it can happen to maintain its superiority in a competitive environment.

An unofficial video displays what looks like an updated Smart Cover accessory, demonstrating the leaked iPad chassis attaching easily to the magnetic cover with slimmer sides and tighter, angled edges. Watch the video below:
