"New Girl" Scoop: Damon Wayans Jr. appeared in the pilot episode of "New Girl." However, the actor's stint as Coach in Fox's comedy lasted for only an episode. ABC's had decided to renew Damon's "Happy Endings," which speeded the exit of his character from "New Girl."

The season 3 of "New Girl" has brought back the character of Coach. In episode 7 of "New Girl," Coach came back to the apartment after breaking-up with his girl friend. According to Hollywood Reporter, the character of Coach is going to stay on for the rest of the third season. Damon has not signed on as a regular, but his character will continue as a special guest star.

Originally, Damon had a regular role in "New Girl" After his exit from the comedy series, Lamorne Morris joined the team to play the character of Winston. Before the premiere of the third season of "New Girl," Damon was roped in for an arc of six episodes.

According to FOX Publicity, in the upcoming episode of "New Girl," "Menus," Coach will take Nick under his tutelage as he decides to train him. The aim of the training is to get Nick into shape. Schmidt expresses his interest to help. Also, Coach, Jess and Nick will order Chinese food, which will lead to "overabundance" of menus at the loft's front door. Jess finds out who is leaving behind the menus. She and Winston confront the restaurant owner and they end-up reaching an agreement.

The eight episode of "New Girl" Season 3 will show Schmidt helping Winston after the latter hurts his ankle. Nick will help Jess take her students to the beach on a field trip. At the beach, students will bury Winston in the sand.
