"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel is pregnant. The 34-year-old is expecting her first child with her producer beau Jacob Pechenik. The couple is reportedly thrilled with the baby news.

"We are so excited to meet our little one," Deschanel said in a statement to People. Though it is not known how far along is Zooey in her pregnancy, her rep has hinted that their little one may arrive this summer, according to US Weekly. Interestingly, Zooey's pregnancy news comes after her sister Emily Deschanel revealed that she is expecting her second child. It is expected that Emily will guide Zooey through her first pregnancy. Emily is reportedly a health freak and is binging on high protein diet."I work with a nutritionist to make sure I have the protein that I need," Emily said about her pregnancy diet. She also said that she gets thirsty easily and has been drinking a lot of water. Emily's pregnancy cravings are citrus fruits and lemonade.

Meanwhile, Zooey is yet to dish out on her pregnancy cravings. She was recently spotted hiding her baby bump when she stepped out on Jan 11, according to the website. The actress wore a white dress and blue coat. In her wake to camouflage her pregnancy figure she held her coat from the front. She coupled her look with minimal makeup and wore her hair loose. Zooey and Jacob have been dating since 2014. The news of their romance first emerged when they were spotted in a tight embrace while going for a hike in Los Angeles in August, reported the website. They made their first red carpet debut as a couple at the last year's Emmy Awards.

The couple has also worked together in 2015 film "Rock The Kasbah." The film tells a story of a washed up music manager who finds a singing talent in Afghanistan. It also stars Kate Hudson and Bruce Willis. The actress was previously married to the musician Ben Gibbard, lead vocalist for "Death Cab for Cutie" and "The Postal Service." She divorced with him last 2011, citing irreconcilable differences. Post her divorce she dated screenwriter Jamie Linden. They were in a relationship for two years before calling it quits.
