New ‘Hercules’ 2014 Trailer Shows the Monsters in Action and the Cast [Watch Video]
A new trailer of the upcoming movie "Hercules" has been released, giving the viewers a glimpse of the monsters in the movie and also the cast. The movie will be released on 25 July in the U.S and on 31 July in Australia.
"Hercules" 2014 tells the story of the 12 labours of the legendary hero. He is also asked by the king of Thrace to help defeat a tyrannical warlord. He has to confront the gods who killed his family and threaten the peace of the world.
The newly released trailer of the movie shows the warrior fighting some of the monsters from the 12 labours. The Nemean lion, the boar and the Hydra can be seen in the video. Viewers can also see a very brief glimpse of the three headed dog Cerberus, which according to legend lives in the underworld.
The underworld is the domain of Hades. Hercules will have to fight against the creatures of Hades in the movie and viewers can see an army of Hades descending upon mankind. The legendary hero along with his friends makes a stand against these forces.
The traditional foes of Hercules have always been Hera, the queen of the gods and Ares, god of war. However, there has been no mention of these gods in the upcoming movie and the main focus may be on Hades.
The cast of "Hercules" includes Dwayne Johnson as the protagonist, Irina Shayk as Megara, John Hurt as Cotys, Rufus Sewell as Autolycus, Joe Anderson as Phineus, Ingrid Bolso Berdal as Atlanta, Rebecca Ferguson as Ergenia, Peter Mullan as Sitacles, Reece Ritchie as Iolaus and Aksel Hennie as Tydeus.
"Hercules" will be competing with movies like "Lucy," "Step Up All In," "Wish I Was Here," "Happy Christmas" and "A Most Wanted Man." These movies will be releasing on the same day. Another popular upcoming movie "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" will be releasing on 11 July.
The classic look of "Hercules" with a beard, lion's hide and a mace is different from the recent depiction of the character in the movies and animation. The action and graphics in the movie is expected to keep the audience engaged throughout the movie.
