The writer and director of the upcoming movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" 2 has confirmed that there will be at least one more superhero from the comic books in the next movie. Two popular characters who can be considered in the upcoming movie include Phyla Vell and Adam Warlock.

Responding to a question on Twitter, James Gunn has said that he may not be able to give too much away but fans can expect to see at least one more Guardian from the comic books joining hands with the current team. The five superheroes currently comprises of Peter Quill, Drax, Rocket, Groot and Gamora.

The other characters joining the "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the comic books include the Phyla Vell, the daughter of the genetically engineered woman and Adam Warlock, who is also a result of a scientific experiment who was born in a cocoon.

Phyla Vell has fought the super villains Ultron and Thanos in the comic books. She is the daughter of the Elysius. She briefly took on the name of Captain Marvel before joining as a team member of "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Readers who have watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" will know the importance of the Infinity Stones. Adam Warlock is in possession of the Soul Gem in the comics. The stone allows him to absorb the souls of his victims and send them to a dimension within the gem.

Thanos is perhaps one super villain that movie buffs are waiting eagerly to see. The character was seen towards the end of the "Avengers" movie. The character is also the enemy of the "Guardians of the Galaxy." Thanos is seen as a strong villain obsessed with pleasing his mistress "Death" in the comics. He is looking for the Infinity Stones to grant him more power.

The plot and the main villain of "Guardians of the Galaxy" 2 have still not been revealed. The movie is expected to be released on July 28, 2017 in the U.S. The release date information in Australia is still awaited.
