Aston Martin's relationship with James Bond franchise dates back to five decades. The sexy car was first unveiled by Sean Connery in the Bond flick "Goldfinger" in 1964. In the movie, he drove the Aston Martin DB5. The DB5 model of the mean machine then appeared in the six Bond movies and has been known as the 007's most popular car. The Aston Martin DB10 is the latest addition to the family of Bond cars.
The car has been designed by a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, especially for the next James Bond movie. Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said in a press release that his team worked closely with director Mendes to develop the car that will be limited to just 10 models.
"In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond," said Palmer, according to astonmartin.com.
The event also announced the cast of the next Bond movie, "Spectre." Daniel Craig returns as 007 and will get to drive the special car. The other actors in the move are Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott and Monica Bellucci.
Bellucci will play the role of the Bond girl at the age of 50 years. The Italian beauty has created history by becoming the oldest actress to play the Bond girl.
"James Bond is our fantasy - the ideal man. The man is a protector, he is dangerous, mysterious and sexy, and a perfect English gentleman," said the actress, speaking about her role as Lucia Sciarra in the upcoming Bond flick "Spectre," as quoted by Daily Mail.
The name of the new Bond film has been inspired by a fictional terrorist organisation SPECTRE, or the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, according to Daily Mail. In the movie, Daniel Craig, who plays a glamorous spy Bond, receives a message from the past and he works to expose the organisation. "Spectre" is scheduled to release on Nov. 6, 2015.
