New mommy Eva Mendes believes that it is way harder to be a baby than being a mother. Motherhood is "a piece of cake" as compared to being an infant, the 40-year-old said during her first ever interview after being blessed with a baby girl sometime back. The actress admitted that though she is quite "exhausted" by doing mommy duties, she has not hired a nanny yet for her six weeks old daughter.

Eva looked every inch glamorous in the new black and white photos that appear in Violet Grey magazine. She and partner Ryan Gosling welcomed a baby girl Esmeralda Amada last September, but the actress did not show any pregnancy fat on her body. Mendes actually looked quite fit and toned up as she posed for pictures wearing a short printed floral dress. The "Hitch" actress also showed off her sexy back while wearing a black halter neck dress in another picture. See photos here.

Eva also talked about her decision to avoid the "baby bump" limelight when she got pregnant. The actress revealed that she is aware of the fact that it would be difficult for her to shield her daughter Esmeralda Amada Gosling from the paparazzi, but she and Ryan decided to give her "as much privacy" as they can from early on. "I find the media's "bump watch" obsession to be both intrusive and stressful," said the actress to the magazine.

The actress then went on reveal the meaning of her baby's name. "Ryan and I both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and we just think it's a beautiful name," Mendes explained adding that Amada was the name of her grandmother and it mean "beloved" in Spanish language.

Eva said that motherhood is tough, but "it's way harder to be a baby" as everything is a struggle for her. Eva's baby threw up twice during the photoshoot and it was bothering her. The actress says she is helped by the ladies in her family to take care of the baby and she does not have any outside help at present. Eva also added that she is "open to the idea" of having in nanny in future.
