Anthony Davis recorded 27 points and 12 rebounds and Jrue Holiday tallied 31 points & 13 assists as the New Orleans Pelicans edged the up-and-coming Portland Trail Blazers 110-108 on Monday at New Orleans Arena.

The Pelicans came up with a statement win against an emerging Western Conference powerhouse. Davis once again led the way with his double-double output but the exploits of Holiday and another excellent contribution from Tyreke Evans (20 points) off the bench keyed the Pelicans' victory.

After absorbing a heart-breaking loss at the hands of the Heat, the Blazers started a little bit slow but recovered in the middle of the ballgame to keep it tight untile the end. LaMarcus Aldridge (28 points) and Damian Lillard (29 points) carried the scoring load for the Blazers, but their output didn't avert their second straight setback.

The Pelicans have now moved one game below .500 at 14-15 while the Blazers are still lording on top of the Western Conference at 24-7.
