A New Phablet to be Launched by HTC Powered by Media Tek Octa Core Chip
Tipster Tweets That the Phablet Will Have the Same Specs of the HTC Desire 816
In the IFA Berlin 2014, the Taiwanese company that manufactures HTC made an announcement of their latest device HTC Desire 820. Soon rumours started abound that the company will launch a 5.5 inch Phablet smartphone similar to HTC Desire 816. There was a fresh update from Twitter user suggesting that the Phablet will be launched soon.
The Tweet also suggested that the device will have Media Tek Octa-core processor with the hardware and the specifications same as the Desire 816 except for the chip-set and RAM. The person who started this rumour also had leaked the specifications of LG G2 Lite. However, he does not say anything about the name of the device.
This rumour has given enough information about the upcoming Phablet that it would be same as the HTC Desire 816. The Desire 816 is a smartphone with 5.5 inches HD display. The smartphone has 8 GB of internal storage. It has a micro SD slot that is expandable up to 128 GB. The Phablet may have a 13 mega pixel rear facing camera and will record videos in 1,080p. The front facing camera would be 5 mega pixels. These are speculations since the leak said that the Phablet will be the same on the lines of HTC Desire 816.
According to the tipster the Phablet will have an octa-core processor instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor that runs the HTC Desire 816. With an octa core processor, the phablet will have to be powered by a 2,600 mAh battery. The only difference according to the tipster is the RAM and processor. The speculation could be that the device could have the Media Tek MT6595 and the expectation would be a RAM of 1.5 or 2 GB.
HTC has come out with smartphones that are powered by Media Tek that would include the Desire 310 and the Desire 616. This has helped the company to bring down the price of the device. When the specifications are taken into consideration, it could mean that the Phablet is made exclusively for the Asian market. However, these are just guess work and speculations. It would be wise to wait for the formal announcement.
