Windfall of specs (can be read too as speculations) greeted Samsung fans this week, most of them anxiously waiting to have a peek on the upcoming Galaxy S4. Now a new image of the Android handset is in the air.

Thanks to @evleaks we can glimpse on a new S4 render, showing off the obviously wide-screen mobile device side-by-side with the partially covered previous editions of the Galaxy S series handsets.

The tease showed the Galaxy S4, set for uncloaking in New York on March 14, towering over and hulking on its older brothers.

A separate image also proved that the heft to come with the S4 is complemented by jaw-dropping powers encased inside the phone's body, which appears to sustain the plastic material used on its predecessors.

Note that there were persistent reports Samsung will opt for sturdier material on its flagship smartphone. Confirmation to that we will know next week as the two images failed to clearly establish the body-make of the GS4.

However, the specs are there and @evleaks gave out surprise, a welcome one at that. The leak provided for a Super AMOLED display screen with no specific size though experts believe it'll be 5-inch.

The report ran in counter to claims that circulated last week - that Samsung was forced to use a different panel for the S4 display screen because AMOLED production encountered serious issues. If @evleaks is to be believed, that problem now appears behind Samsung.

And @evleaks has somewhat gained a reputation for leaking out tech news that proved true in time. Remember the HTC One leaks? Al the specs and images were spot on when the quad-core HTC smartphone was eventually unveiled.

Other detail s from the update largely echoed earlier speculations: 13MP main shooter, JellyBean 4.2 and three internal storage configurations at 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The latter seems to jibe with a report last week that indicates the Galaxy S4 will retail in six variants and in two colours - black and white.

And like the concept iPhone published today by a French website, Samsung saw it wise to ditch the physical home button as the rendered showed a Galaxy S4 with a clean edge-to-edge screen on its face.

The only 'disturbance' is on the top portion of the handset, where the speaker and the front cam are located. The latter, by the way, is now eye-sensitive, enabling the Galaxy S4 to scroll without touch, as reported by The New York Times.
