New 'Star Wars' TV series title and plot revealed
“Star Wars” fans are finally getting what they have been waiting for. A new TV series is being developed that is based around the planet Mandalore. The popular bounty hunter Bobba Fett will not be coming back, but the TV series will showcase the armour and the lifestyle of a “warrior.”
The title of the new TV series has been revealed to be “The Mandalorian,” Collider reports. According to the synopsis, this is the story of warrior that comes after the stories of Jango and Boba Fett. It remains to be seen if this new character has a connection to the Fetts or if these names are mentioned just to remind the fans of the mercenaries.
The plot is set just after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” the film in which the Empire collapsed after the death of two central figures in it. In the upcoming TV series, the First Order is still on the rise and hasn’t become the big threat that the fans saw in “The Force Awakens.”
The new movies from the franchise haven’t really shown what happened to Mandalore after the fall of the Empire. The “Rebels” TV series is the only exception that had a few episodes focussing on the warrior race, but the plot was set during the time the Rebellion was formed.
The new TV series may take the fans to the Outer Rim. The warrior, who will be the focus of the show, will be spending time far away from the influence of the New Republic, according to the synopsis. This suggests that the show will feature the scum and villainy of the galaxy.
A release date for the new “Star Wars” TV series hasn’t been announced yet. If the production starts later this year, the fans can expect the show to air some time by the end of 2019 or in 2020.
