The New York Knicks are reportedly interested to sign Iranian center Hamed Haddadi, a source close to situation disclosed on Wednesday.

The 7-foot-2, 265-pound Haddadi became the latest free agency target of the Knicks after signing Pablo Priogini, J.R Smith and Metta World Peace this offseason.

Haddadi averaged 4.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17 games for the Phoenix Suns. Prior to his tenure with the Suns, Hadaddi spent his first four seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies before he was used as part of the package in a three-way deal that sent him and Rudy Gay to the Toronto Raptors, Tyshaun Prince to the Grizz, and Jose Calderon to the Detroit Pistons.

Due to immigration issues, Haddadi could not report immediately to the Raptors, prompting the ballclub to trade the Iranian and a second round pick to the Suns in exchange for Sebastian Telfair.

Hadaddi is currently playing with the Iranian National team in the FIBA Asia Championship in Manila, Philippines.

The two-time FIBA Asia MVP has been one of the most dominant forces in the FIBA Asia joust for the five years, and he's expected to sustain his reign in the paint in the latest war on the hard-court.

Undrafted in 2004, Hadaddi averaged 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds over five NBA seasons.
