48 years after the James Bond movie was released, the franchise still shows no sign of slowing down. The 23rd Bond title has been revealed Wednesday as "Skyfall" and will still feature British actor Daniel Craig as 007.

Joining Craig is an all star line-up; Javier Bardem plays Bond's latest nemesis, Albert Finney is slated as an intelligence official (Judy Dench's character's boss in the British intelligence to be exact). Possibly becoming new members of the elusive lady club of Bond girls are British actress Naomie Harris and French newcomer Berenice Marlohe.

The roles of the actors, excluding Craig and Finney, have been purposely kept rather vague by the production team which will be led by Academy Award winning director, Sam Mendes.

Though the plot has been released, insiders are still keeping mum about the specifics of the film. "Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost," the statement was read in the press conference staged by Sony.

Speculations about which villain Bardem will portray has gotten Bond fans buzzing. One of the more renowned adversaries in the Bond tradition, Ernst Stavro Blofeld's name is being thrown around by early speculators and the clamour for it has been absolutely electrifying.

The film's rep has been adamant about the film being self contained although still very much in the fold of the Bond tradition.

Most reports have noted that the cast being what it is, might this be the first Bond film to be nominated for an Oscar? Mendes responded by saying that awards have never been his primary reason for making a movie though what happens after they have been made isn't up to him.

The director states that this movie will definitely have some of the more classic elements of the earlier films and boasts of a "fantastic script".
