Newly Married Carey Mulligan Glows in Gold at the Met Gala, First Public Appearance Since Marrying Marcus Mumford
Just recently after she was married to Marcus Mumford, Carey Mulligan made her first public appearance at the Met Gala 2012.
Not only was her gown for the night literally glowing but the 26-year-old newlywed was also beaming in smiles as she posed for photographers as this year's Met Gala. The actress stepped out in an eye catching gold and silver sequined halterneck dress which is one of the most memorable gowns for the event.
It was the first public appearance of the British actress after she was married to Marcus Mumford. She kept her accessories simple as the dazzling Prada dress was enough to steal the moment.
Apart from her gown, she also gave the public a first peek of the wedding ring on her left hand. Carey was wearing a gold wedding band in addition to her diamond engagement ring.
The fresh-faced actress was one of the early celebrities to arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute in New York City, where the fashion bash was held. She was also one of the hosts for the event which has a tribute this year for Prada and Schiaparelli.
In a brief interview, Mulligan gushed that she was really honored to be wearing the stunning Prada dress. It was also believed that she wore a Prada design dress when she wed musician Marcus Mumford in a private ceremony in Somerset last April 21.
Thanks to her fashion forward decision, the Oscar-nominated actress has gathered a lot of compliments even making her name trend for several hours on Twitter worldwide.
The now husband and wife had a very private relationship and were very rarely photographed together. The two got engaged last August after just dating for a few months.
