Newlyweds Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were warned by friends for playing the role of an estranged couple in their upcoming movie "By the Sea." Angie and Brad were to shoot the movie right after they got married and their friends thought it was not such a great idea. However, the couple went ahead with the shoot and considered it their honeymoon.

The actress revealed that "By the Sea" is a drama about "bad marriage." It tells the story about a couple who have differences in their lives but nevertheless embark upon a sea journey. They decide to stop by a quiet seaside town where they make friends with the interesting local folk.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Joile were last seen in the action movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and the couple has not acted together ever since. Jolie and Pitt also got romantically involved with each other during the shooting of the movie and started living together thereafter. They wanted to act together now and decided to do the movie "By the Sea" because it was about "marriage and family."

Jolie also acknowledges the fact that it was a "drama about a bad marriage" and they were initially "uncomfortable" doing it as a couple. "We've survived it and we're stronger for it," said the actress according to Daily Mail.

"A lot of friends of ours thought is was a really... they didn't say a bad idea... but they asked us a few times if we were sure we wanted to do it," added the actress.

Jolie described the script of the movie as "tough, heavy, dramatic emotional work." The newly-wed wife to Pitt is not only acting in the movie but also directing it. "By the Sea" is set in the 1970s and Jolie plays the character of a former dancer Vanessa. The character of Vanessa's husband Roland is played Jolie's real life husband Brad. Roland is an American writer who travels with his wife.

Jolie has also directed another movie called "Unbroken" that tells the true story of the life of Louis Zamperini, an American Olympic runner and prisoner of war who was detained in Japan.
