Up Next in Australia: The 2011 Royal Melbourne Show

The Royal Melbourne Show, which lasts for eleven (11) days, is now on its 156th year! It will be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from September 24 (Saturday) to October 4 (Tuesday). The event features animal and livestock, the best food and wine, arts and crafts, rides, exhibition and displays, free publlic and live entertainment, and fireworks!
According to its web site, the Royal Melbourne Show is the signature event in Melbourne since its inauguration back in 1848 "when it started as a ploughing competition in Moonee Ponds." The show is organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), a member-based and non-profit organization dedicated to supporting excellence in Victorian agriculture.
To get there, you can take Tram 57 from Elizabeth St and hop on a 'Royal Melbourne Show' train at Flinders St, Southern Cross or North Melbourne Stations. See you there!
