The Nexus 6: Sold Out In Google Play Store Australia
It looks like there is no stopping Australian fans from getting their hands on Google's super-sized smartphone despite its high cost. Google has obviously caught the interest of both young and old consumers with the release of Nexus 6 in the land Down Under.
The Nexus 6 costs AU$869 for the standard 32GB version while the upgraded 64GB model costs AU$929. Apparently, the price stated for the Australian market is relatively AU$20 to AU$70 higher compared to its selling price in the United States. The higher pricing seems standard in Australia where in consumer electronics are always more expensive.
As of today, stock is already exhausted and the Play Store has already advised interested consumers to check back soon. Despite the situation, Nexus 6 is still available for purchase through Google's Play Store with a lead time provided.
At this point, only the 32GB midnight blue version is available for AU$869 while the 32GB model in cloud white should be available soon and costs AU$929. Both colour variants are made available upon order, which is good news for Australians as compared to other places, like in Mexico where the cloud white version is the only one available, Gizmodo reports.
According to Ausdroid, the smartphone will ship in 3-4 weeks. There will also be shipping costs, which come in two options: first, the standard (3-5 business days), which costs AU$15 and second is the international priority (1-3 business days), which costs AU$23.
Google is also expected to provide cases while the Nexus 6 is on sale. The "Stand Folio Case for Nexus 6" and the "Naked Tough Case for Nexus 6" are not yet available for order but are expected to be available soon.
Finally, even before the device was sold out, Google has indicated on the store that it would also be selling the Nexus 6 in JB Hi-Fi stores as well. This will give hope for consumers who can't wait to get their hand on the popular device. Meanwhile, the 64GB Nexus 6 is still tagged as "Coming Soon".
