The disappointing playoff exit, wherein the Broncos lost to the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round playoffs, cost the 59 year old Fox his job at Denver. Fox and the Broncos had success since 2011 making the playoffs four times in the last four seasons. While they won the AFC West four straight years they also missed a Super Bowl title with early playoff exits. Fox, who also coached the Carolina Panthers from 2002 to 2010 in a previous stint, has led his teams to the Super Bowl but always came up short. Fox is one of six coaches in NFL history to bring his teams to the championship game.

Fox, who will be joining first year general manager Ryan Pace who replaced Phil Emery, will be moving from handling veteran quarterback Peyton Manning to underperforming QB Jay Cutler.
