The New England Patriots received some good news recently because of the on track progress of tight end Rob Gronkowski, who suffered an ACL injury on December 8.

In an interview with the "Hill-Man Show" on WAAF-FM, Gronkowski deflected from a question about how ready he would be for the 2014 season-opener, but instead provided insights about his progress from the gruesome injury.

"Oh man, that's too far away. I'm just improving every day right now," Gronkowski said Tuesday. "I'm working hard every day to put myself in the best situation so that I'm ready."

Gronkowski said it has been hard road to recovery both physically and mentally, especially if he's not able to do the drills his teammates are doing.

"When it's the same thing 15 weeks straight, it starts to get tough. But you just have to stay mentally tough and stay physically strong and keep going in and keep grinding," said Gronkowski, who attended the voluntary offseason program on April 21 at Gillette Stadium.

"It's been a while now and I'm just super excited to get this season rolling and get back out there on the field. I know it's another few more months away, so I have more time to keep on recovering and keep on getting in shape."
