NFL News: RG3 Auctions Off Cast During Injury For Charity
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is auctioning off the cast he wore after dislocating his left ankle in a regular season game this season. The Redskins quarterback could only lead the Redskins to a 4-12 win-loss record in 2014 but he’s hoping the auction will get more as the money from the auction will be for a good cause benefitting the Family of 3 charity foundation.
The team posted the auction invite in its official Twitter account:

The auction for the cast is scheduled to be done by Feb. 13. Griffin was sidelined for six games after that Week 2 injury when he needed to use the cast. This was his second leg injury in three seasons in the National Football League (NFL).
Griffin struggled in his third year in the league after showing promise and potential in his rookie season. The 24-year-old quarterback had a passer rating of 86.9 with 1,694 passing yards on 147-of-214 completions or 68.7 completion percentage with 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Griffin also had 176 rushing yards on 38 carries in 9 games played in the 2014 NFL season. This was far from his rookie season when he had a 102.4 passer rating with 20 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
The Redskins missed the playoffs this year after making the playoffs in 2012 when Griffin suffered his first leg injury in the playoff match-up against the Seattle Seahawks. Griffin and Washington lost that wild card match-up, 24-14 as RG3 got injured early in the game and never returned.
