The Tampa Bay Buccaneers has fired Head Coach Greg Schiano and General Manager Mark Dominik Monday after their team came up with one of the worst season in franchise history.

The Buccaneers suffered its third straight losing season and it's enough reason to make a major overhaul in the coaching and front office ranks.

"The results over the past two years have not lived up to our standards and we believe the time has come to find a new direction,'' Co-chairman Bryan Glazer said in a statement via ESPN.

"Mark has been a valued member of our organization for two decades and we respect the passion he showed for the Buccaneers during his time here. We thank Greg for his hard work and effort the past two seasons, but we feel these moves are necessary in order to achieve our goals," he added.

Schiano also had an opportunity to address his firing Monday at the Tampa Bay Hotel, saying he failed to get the job done.

"We didn't get it done," Schiano said. "I accept full responsibility for that. I'm the head football coach, and that didn't work. Having said that, I'm really proud of our coaches and players for the way that they hung together, fought through adversity."

"Adversity, there was plenty of. Never was there any finger pointing or that stuff that goes along with it. I'm proud of that."

The Buccaneers closed out its season on a sour note as it lost to the New Orleans Saints 42-17. They finished the year with a 4-12 slate.
