Nothing has changed in Texas as the powerhouse San Francisco 49ers took care of business on the road by taking advantage of an erratic Tony Romo to get the victory over the Dallas Cowboys, 28-17 in the teams’ opening game of the 2014-2015 NFL season.
Romo, the quarterback of the Cowboys, had three interceptions and was sacked three times. The much-maligned QB finished with 281 passing yards on 23-of-37 completions and had a touchdown. Romo’s counterpart, Colin Kaepernick was 16-of-23 for 201 yards with 2 touchdowns and zero interception.
The 49ers were handicapped too playing without starters Aldon Smith and NaVorro Bownman out due to a suspension and injury, respectively. San Francisco’s other defensive players stepped up right in the first half as they contained Romo and helped the 49ers lead at 28-3 at halftime.
