NFL Week 12: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants [PREVIEW]
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants definitely hate each other. With a crucial match-up in Week 12, they can channel all those emotions in getting that crucial win to keep their hopes alive in winning the NFC East.
The Cowboys are pedestrian with a 5-5 win-loss card and the Giants are just a game back at 4-6. Despite the so-so records, both still have a shot at winning the mediocre division. Currently, the Philadelphia Eagles are the division leaders with a 6-5 record.
The Giants started a woeful 0-6 in the season but has responded with four straight to get back in the thick of things in the playoffs discussion. Albeit those four wins came against below average teams which were missing key players, New York has done their part in at least becoming competitive at this point of the season.
Dallas can't find consistency once again this year. They opened the season with a win over the Giants, 36-31 but then lost three of four. They went on to win three of five to settle for a 0.500 record before their bye week.
The Giants' struggles can be attributed to their own quarterback's troubles. Eli Manning has a passer rating of 70.8 his lowest since his rookie year. The 32-year-old has 17 interceptions this year and only 12 touchdowns.
Manning threw for 450 yards in the Week 1 meeting but had 3 interceptions.
Meanwhile, Dallas' problem is their defense. They rank 32nd in pass defense giving up 313.0 passing yards per game and 29th in rush defense allowing 126.8 rushing yards per outing.
