Vince Young is the man of the hour. For the Green Bay Packers that is. He signed a one-year deal with the Packers after proving himself in workout. And to think many speculated his NFL career is on the dumps.

The Green Bay Packers team believes that it has seen enough of the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback's prowess from their workout on Monday, and had been excited to sign him in for a one-year deal.

The interesting part here is that the 30-year-old quarterback has not set foot into the field since the 2011 season. He just flew into Austin-Straubel pn Sunday night. His strength however, was observable while in camp with the Buffalo Bills in 2012.

Vince Young may have been in and out of different seasons, but his impressive record cannot be denied. For six NFL seasons and under the Tennessee Titans as well as the Philadelphia Eagles (as Michael Vick's backup), the young quarterback has starred in 60 games with 50 starts. He accomplished 755 out of 1,304 passes or a total of 60 per cent for 8,964 yards throughout his career. He also achieved 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions. He is not NFL offensive rookie of 2006 for nothing.

When he transferred to the Buffalo, he got cut during the pre-season. He vanished in the 2012 season, and he himself even claimed that his NFL career might be over.

Previously vying for a backup position to Aaron Rodgers for the Packers were younger players Graham Harrell (28 years old) and B.J. Coleman (24 years old). The two were dividing reps equally throughout camp. Coleman, however, experienced struggling behind Rodgers on Saturday's annual family night Intra-squad scrimmage. Young will compete with Graham Harrel now for the backup job.

Many opine that Young is so much more interesting than Coleman anyway with his impressive record and unbelievable story. No offense to the latter.
