Niall Horan confirms One Direction will be back after boys finish solo projects
While One Direction fans have generally accepted that the group is on a hiatus, they are still unsure about whether or not the hiatus will become permanent. However, they can rest on the knowledge that at least one member is willing and sure that a reunion is in the cards.

Niall Horan, who has experienced success outside of One Direction thanks to his single “This Town,” told The Sun that the boys would be back together one day. “We will be back,” he told the publication. “We would be silly not to. Ridiculous.” He then went on to say that he and his bandmates have only taken this time to explore what they could do as solo artists.
“At the moment, we are all doing our own thing. Harry [Styles] wanted to do his movie and everyone is just chilling,” Niall said. “I don’t think anyone needs to worry about us. We are fine.”
Niall’s statement is not confirmation that a reunion between himself, Harry, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will happen soon. However, the interview at least steers the direction in the way of when the reunion will happen, as opposed to if it ever will. It is also unclear whether or not the reunion will include Zayn Malik, who was the first to leave the group in 2015.
Zayn has arguably experienced the most success since the group parted ways. The 23-year-old “Pillowtalk” singer was awarded the New Artist Of The Year at the American Music Awards on Nov. 20. On stage, he briefly referred to One Direction. “This one just has my name on it, right?” he said.
Earlier that night, Niall has admitted not speaking to Zayn for months. Following that interview, the two shared a brief but awkward moment when Niall reached out to Zayn for a handshake.
