Nick Cannon reportedly remarked that his wife Mariah Carey is getting fat and old.

Celebdirty Laundry reported Cannon wanted Carey to dress her age. Carey was recently seen riding the subway and dressed in a ball gown for a playground appearance.

Based on the reports of June 30 Star Magazine (via Celebdirty Laundry) that Cannon had a phone conversation with Carey where he told her that she should go for classy outfits that suit her age.

"Mariah couldn't believe that Nick dared to talk to her that way - especially since the couple are rumored to be on the verge of divorce - and she still insists that she looks good," the Web site quoted the source from the magazine.

Canon and Carey are battling divorce rumors for a long time now. Though Canon has played down the divorce rumors and suggested all the news are fabricated.

"You kind of have to ignore it because every week it's something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually probably would start really affecting you," he said to Parade Magazine.

"It's kind of humorous, really. It couldn't be further off from the truth, and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers."

The couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary last month. Fans thought the divorce rumors between the couple couldn't be deemed true. They have celebrated the third birthday of Carey's twins, Monroe and Moroccan, on the day of their anniversary.

"We definitely had a good time. The first part of the day, we threw a birthday for them and their friends at their school, and then after that, once we tired all the kids out, we had a nice romantic rooftop evening and kind of re-enacted some of our wedding and engagement rituals that we do every year," he said of the celebration to the mag, adding,

"It was low-key. I mean the year before, we kind of went over the top with Disneyland, so we kind of wanted to reel it in this year."
