Nick Lachey Thinks Not Having A Baby With Jessica Simpson Is For The Best

Nick Lachey feels nothing but relief that he and ex Jessica Simpson did not have a kid. Married for three years and divorced in 2005, Nick is now expecting his second baby with wife Vanessa Minnilo.

When he was suddenly asked on Jenny McCarthy's SiriusXM radio show how he feels about not having a baby with Jessia, Nick did not mince words or avoided the question. Instead, he said it was probably for the best that they were not blessed with a kid in their three years of marriage.

"In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened, that we didn't have kids," Lachey answered. "You're always going to love your kids, no matter how you feel about their other parent, but all things being equal it was the best thing for both of us."

He also said he already lost all contact with Jessica. He shared if they were given a kid, then maybe the situation would different; they'll still be divorced but they would have to stay in each other's lives.

Lachey added that even though they have broken up just after three years of being together as husband and wife, they're not enemies. However, they are not friends either. He jokingly said that it's somewhere in the middle, and he does not "piss at the TV" whenever he sees her ads. Jessica Simpson is now married to Eric Johnson.

Speaking of kids, he and his wife, Vanessa already picked out a name for the incoming baby girl, although he could not share it to the public yet. He told ABC News that the name was not just a random name they've read about in a book. Instead, it was a name that means something to both of them, and he thinks it's a cool name. "But if I reveal it, I would be raked over the coals," he added. Moreover, their son Camden is also as excited to be a big brother. Lachey shared that Camden knows his baby sister is in his mother's belly so he says "good night" and "I love you" to her all the time.
