Nick Lachey Warns New Boy Bands To ‘Stay Away From Taylor Swift’
Nick Lachey has offered sage advice to the younger generation of boy band members. The 98 Degrees frontman warns other singers to "stay away from Taylor Swift!"
Jessica Simpson's ex-husband and his reunited group sat down for an interview with MTV News last week when he offered his two cents to new boy bands, like One Direction.
"Stay away from Taylor Swift!" he quipped. "She'll write a song about you... Oh! I'm too late on that one. I didn't get to [that advice] fast enough. [The song will] be a hit, but it will be about you."
He might just be joking, but anyone who has followed Taylor's career knows that there's some truth to his words.
It isn't a secret that Taylor, 23, writes songs about her breakups from fellow celebrities, including John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Connor Kennedy, and One Direction member Harry Styles. It's noted that each of her high profile relationships has only lasted for a few months. Her serial dating reputation has somehow made her a target of Internet jokes.
But kidding aside, Nick said that he doesn't really have anything to offer today's singers.
"They're making money," he said. "They don't need our advice."
Nick reunites with his brother Drew, and friends Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons for a comeback album. They are also going on a joint tour with fellow '90s boy bands New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men in the summer.
