Nicki Minaj has explained what her speech really meant, when she accepted the "Best Female Hip-Hop Artist Award" in the recently concluded 2014 BET Awards that led people to believe she was dissing Aussie-born singer-rapper Iggy Azalea, in a new interview. The "Superbass" singer has spilled it all in her feature story for the Fader magazine, where she is also the cover artist.

Nicki told The Fader that she was neither talking trash nor throwing shade at anyone else when she made that speech for her fifth consecutive trophy. She wasn't dissing anyone else as she was merely pointing out in her speech that "women need to have a perspective," especially for musicians like her. She said that female musicians should be able to pen their own thoughts into a song.

"If we're out here saying that we're so confident, and we're so this and so that, but we don't even trust ourselves to write down our own thoughts and spit it on a beat," said Nicki. "It just doesn't add up."

People speculated that Nicki's acceptance speech at the 2014 BET Awards was intended for Azalea, who had been rumoured to be using a ghostwriter for her songs, but after Nicki had gone on and spoken to clear the air between her and Azalea, she gets dissed by fellow rapper Li'l Kim in a new track called "Identity Theft." Kim has been accusing Nicki for stealing her style.

A few excerpts from the song include "Anything you try to do, I done did it."

"I'll let you live for a while but I'm done with the crown."

"The Queen's back, b****es, come get it."

"I gave birth to your style."

Li'l Kim even took to social media and promoted her track by posting a digitally altered picture of a New Jersey driver's license with Kim's, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, information but with Nicki's photo. The meme was posted and shared all over Twitter and Instagram and it became viral instantly.

Twitter users react on Li'l Kim's diss track to Nicki, and most people seemed to have their support for Nicki. Some people suggest that Kim was just upset that her career had plummeted down while Nicki's career continues to fly high. Nicki is set to release her latest album "The Pink Print" around the fourth quarter of the year, according to reports.
