Nicki Minaj, a singer well-known for her candy-colored wardrobe, will invade Australia with her first ever concert tour in the country this May.

Minaj will also launch her second album with the tour that will consist of a two-leg concert in Sydney and Melbourne, one day apart.

"So many of my Aussie Barbz were telling me to get my ass down there. They demanded it, so here I come,'' Nicki posted on Twitter, where she has 10 million followers.

The female rapper, who wowed millions around the world with her vocal performance in “Super Bass,” has a strong fan base in Australia where her new single “Starships” and “Turn Me On” ruled the airwaves recently.

Minaj unveiled her masculine ego with “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded”. It will officially be released on April 3, according to Nicki's twitter posts. It’s not entirely a novel move, being preceded by Lady Gaga’s unleashing of her inner male with Joe Calderone in “You and I”. It follows a trend in Hollywood where singers attempt to add another dimension to their cultivated image, such as what Beyonce Knowles did with her album “I AM SASHA FIERCE,” with which she introduced her fans to her eponymous alter ego.

Fans of Nicki can now purchase pre-sale tickets by entering the password ROMAN in Ticketek Australia. Tickets to Minaj’s concert tour in Australia will officially go on sale on March 30.

Concert Schedule:

  • May 16 (Wednesday) at the Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
  • May 18 (Friday) at the Hisense Arena, Melbourne
