“Bad Lieutenant” star Nicolas Cage was arrested in New Orleans Saturday, April 16 and was booked for multiple charges according to New Orleans Police Office said.

The actor’s arrest came after he was reportedly arguing with his wife over a rental apartment he had in the city. Police records say that trouble began when he and wife stood in front of an apartment at 600 block of Dumaine Street. and Nic not only mistook the place as the one they have been renting but also disturbing the peace as he insisted with loud arguments with wife that it was their apartment. When his wife maintained that it was not the one they’re staying, police report said that it was when Cage grabbed his wife’s arms.

According to the Associated Press, when Nicolas Cage failed to convince his wife about the apartment, the “Face-Off” actor had reportedly gone ballistic and started hitting cars along his path.

An officer according to the report by the New Orleans Police, stopped Cage from getting into a cab when he realized how drunk the actor was. But the police was only met by insults from the actor who reportedly mocked the police officer, challenging him to bring him to jail. The police did.

Nicolas Cage was booked for domestic battery abuse, public drunkenness and disturbing the peace. He posted bail at $11,000 and is set for another court hearing on May 31. The “stay away” order has also been waived.

Cage is currently married to 24-year old former cocktail waitress, Alice Kim Cage.

Nicolas Cage has appeared in a number of films including “National Treasure” series, “Adaptation”, “Face-Off”, etc. He has also won an Oscar for his portrayal of a suicidal alcoholic in the movie, “Leaving Las Vegas” (1995)
