Nicolas Cage’s ‘Army Of One’ Co-Star Wendi McLendon-Covey Tells Ellen DeGeneres Prom’s Not A Big Deal
During her appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on April 21, Tuesday, “Repeat After Me” host Wendi McLendon-Covey, 45, who is also a co-star of Nicolas Cage, 51, in “Army Of One,” said going to prom should not be a big deal.
Both McLendon-Covey and Ellen DeGeneres, 57, revealed that it was their mother who made their prom dress. They also shared old photos of their prom to the viewers. When asked by DeGeneres whether she enjoyed her prom, McLendon-Covey simply said it was all right.
Executive produced by DeGeneres among others and hosted by McLendon-Cover, the hidden camera comedy series “Repeat After Me” premiered on Feb. 17. on ABC. Among the celebrities it has featured are Justin Bieber, Mario Lopez and “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo.
McLendon-Covey is also one of the comedians joining Cage in the upcoming comedy “Army Of One.” Larry Charles is helming the film, which is loosely based on the real life of Colorado handyman Gary Faulkner who went to Pakistan to capture Osama bin Laden.
The other co-stars of Cage and McLendon-Covey in “Army Of One” include Rainn Wilson, Russell Brand, Ken Marino, Denis O’Hare, Paul Scheer and Hilary Jardine. Watch McLendon-Covey’s conversation with DeGeneres about going to prom here:
