Nicole Kidman Admits Past Crush on Jimmy Fallon; Aussie Actress Says The ‘Tonight Show’ Host Rebuffed Her [VIDEO]
Nicole Kidman once tried to date Jimmy Fallon but he didn’t have a clue about it. The Australian actress admitted that she had a crush on “The Tonight Show” host when she was still single and unmarried to Keith Urban.
Guest starring on Fallon’s late night program, Kidman, 47, recalled an incident when she met the 40-year-old U.S. comedian for the first time. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and she was invited to come over to Fallon’s apartment. She confessed that she liked him then, shocking Fallon, who had no clue about her feelings for him.
“What are you talking about?!” Fallon exclaimed, unbelieving his own cluelessness. “Did we go out on a date?”
Kidman told him that he appeared not to be interested with her when they met, though he explained that he was just really nervous. He fed her crackers and old Chinese food from the fridge, clearly not making an effort at all. When she said that he put on a video game while she’s still in his apartment, which she interpreted as his way of saying he’s not really interested in her, an embarrassed Fallon hid under his desk.
“And you didn’t talk at all. So about an hour and a half, I thought, ‘He is not interested. This is so embarrassing,’” she said, adding that she left because there was no chemistry between them.
“Or maybe he’s gay!” she said, prompting Fallon to vehemently deny it. “Anyway, we weren’t meant to be, right?”
It really wasn’t. They are both married to other people now; Kidman is married to fellow Aussie Urban, while Fallon is married to film producer Nancy Juvonen. They didn’t mention when the incident happen, though it’s safe to assume it was before 2005 when Kidman met Urban. The couple married in 2006 and have two daughters together, while Fallon and Juvonen married in 2007 and have two daughters as well.
“That was the most awkward ever!” Fallon said of his naivety, though commending Kidman for choosing the “much cooler” Urban over him. It was Kidman’s first guesting on his show.
