Kidman receives Best Actress nomination in 2011 Oscars for "Rabit Hole"
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - - There can never be anything better for actress Nicole Kidman than to receive nomination - in a major category at that - from the highly coveted Academy Awards in Hollywood, while celebrating Australia Day.
Kidman is now vying for Oscar’s Best Actress Awards for her role in her latest film Rabbit Hole.
"What an extraordinary journey this film has taken me on," Kidman said, according to The Herald Sun.
"This nomination reflects all of the heart and soul that these people have put into it and I can't thank them enough."
Also recognized for their latest projects are her fellow Australians Jacki Weaver and Geoffrey Rush. Kidman congratulated Weaver for her Best Supporting Actress nomination in Animal Kingdom and Rush for his Best Supporting Actor nomination in The King’s Speech.
"Congratulations to Jacki. I am absolutely thrilled and excited for her. Jacki has dedicated her life to her acting career and this is fantastic recognition. It is wonderful for Geoffrey, too. He is such an extraordinary actor, “ Kidman was quoted as saying by The Herald Sun.
One of the top Australian actresses, Kidman has appeared in numerous highly acclaimed movie projects including The Hours –from which she also received Oscar nominations - Moulin Rouge, and Cold Mountain among others.
