Nicole Kidman Hopes Desperately Every Month To Conceive
Nicole Kidman wants to have another baby with husband Keith Urban. The star is reportedly very keen to conceive once again and wants to enjoy motherhood one last time.
The revelations have come after an interview with Australian radio station KIIS 1065 after being was asked about the possibilities of having more kids. "I mean, I hope every month that I'm pregnant, so there we go. But I never am," Kidman said. "I would be jumping for joy if I was. It won't happen. No! I'm 47, it won't happen."
Despite her age, the star is quite optimistic and hopes every month that she could get pregnant one last time. Kidman has given birth to one child in 2008 and had another by a surrogate mother in 2010.
The Australian actress is extremely optimistic as she claims to be hoping against the hope of getting pregnant at such an advanced age of 47. She has grown up in a big and tight-knit family, which makes her wish to have similar one for her as well. Kidman admittedly claims to love babies more compared with her husband, as told in the same interview.
Kidman's wish is contrary to medical advices and past records of miscarriage. As per the latest reports released by the Centre of Disease Control and Prevention, almost 20% of women in the U.S. give birth for the first time after crossing the age of 35. In the same reports, it is also mentioned that almost one-third of the women above 35 who want to get pregnant need to seek medical intervention due to various problems, as told by E!News.
Due to these reasons, Kidman's age is quite a hindrance as conceiving after 35 years is considered a high risk affair. Also, she mentioned in a 2007 interview with Marie Claire that she once had a miscarriage and even suffered an ectopic pregnancy while she was married to Tom Cruise.
As per the same report by CDC, miscarriage increases the infertility to a great extent.
Despite these statistical and medical reports, many women give birth even in their 40s. Kidman is a fine example of the same as she was 41 when she gave birth to her daughter in 2008. Halle Berry gave birth to her second child at 47 while Kelly Preston also did the same thing.
Advanced age pregnancy is still a high risk affair. Hence, constant high class medical supervision and guidance are needed throughout the process.
