"X Factor" judge Nicole Scherzinger understands what goes on in the minds of their contestants.

"Just listening to it makes me tear up. I get excited and cry because I know what it feels like to get to live your purpose or your dreams are fulfilled," says Nicole Scherzinger after being played a montage of her decisions on Good Day LA, according to Digital Spy.

The X Factor judge joked that she was a "hot mess" because of the tears that she shed for the contestants when she had send them home.

"I was a real hot mess when I did the Judges' Houses! There were like a river of tears." she continued.

The Pussycat Dolls lead was joined by Enrique Iglesias at the Judges' Houses stage in Malibu in choosing which of the four acts were going home and which of them are staying.

As X Factor starts showing live shows, Scherzinger explained that she did experienced a hard time choosing which one to keep and which one to let go.

"I also know what it feels like to get your heart crushed and have to pick yourself up and move on." said the sexy judge, who just recently broke up with F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, empathizing with the contestants.

Although there are no confirmed reasons, Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton split because of conflicting schedules as an "X Factor" judge and race car driver respectively. Simon Cowell is also said to have a role in the breakup, putting 'immesuarable strain' on the couple, according to TNT Magazine.

Scherzinger decided to advance Stacy Francis, Dexter Haygood, LeRoy Bell and Josh Krajcik. The four of them will be joining the rest of the X Factor's Top 17 this Tuesday for the first live show performance. The judges will then decide the five that will head home among the seventeen acts. And the excited judge seemed enthralled.

"It's going to be interesting - anything goes! Simon [Cowell] has no rules so it's going to be fun. This is where Paula [Abdul] and Simon change the game. This is new for myself and LA [Reid] but we're a strong team, we have one another, so let's play some ball!" said Scherzinger.
