Ian Somerhalder may have moved on from his ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev, but it seems "The Vampire Diaries" actress is still trying to get over their breakup. According to the latest update, the actress finds solace in her best friend and "Gossip Girl" actress Jessica Szohr.

According to Hollywood Life, Jessica Szohr is "helping" Nina Dobrev get through it all. The two are reportedly "spending more and more time" together. A source told the aforementioned entertainment news and celebrity site that Nina Dobrev and Jessica Szohr are "together nonstop lately" and their friendship is getting deeper.

The source revealed that Jessica Szohr is someone Nina Dobrev shares her feelings with, knowing that Jessica can empathise with what she is going through with Ian. Even after their breakup, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder continue to be co-stars on the set of their hit TV series "The Vampire Diaries." The actress has to face her ex every day during the filming sessions, and it is believed that the situation between the two on the set is quite awkward.

At the same time, the unnamed insider says that Jessica Szohr understands Nina Dobrev's "weird feelings" because she has been through the same after her split with "Gossip Girl" co-star Ed Westwick in 2010.

Furthermore, the source reveals that Jessica Szohr is also "friends" with Ian Somerhalder's new girlfriend, Nikki Reed. However, Jessica is avoiding "taking sides."

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev came together when they were filming the blockbuster CW show. The two play popular onscreen lovers Elena and Damon, who later became the well-loved real-life couple. According to Perez Hilton, they dated for three years before putting an end to their romance in September 2013.

"[Nina and Ian are] consummate professionals [and] will continue to work together and remain best friends, which is where the relationship started," Hollywood Life quotes an insider.

However, reports by media outlets indicate tension between Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder on the set of their show. According to The Hollywood Gossip, the two are not on speaking terms and are "extremely awkward around each other." However, fans must note that these reports lack official comments from the actors and thus remain unconfirmed.

A year after his split from Nina Dobrev, the actor was spotted with "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed. The actor reportedly was seen getting cosy with the actress at Farmers' Market in July 2014. Looking at their latest Instagram post, it seems the two are going strong.
