The split from Ian Somerhalder has opened the dating doors for Nina Dobrev and one rumored candidate is actor Matt Davis. The 35-year-old "Vampire Diaries" actor, who portrayed Alaric Saltzman in the successful CW TV series, even confessed about having a crush on Nina Dobrev.

"I've always had a secret little crush on Nina and I always tease her about Elena and Alaric hooking up," Davis revealed at the Insurgence 5 convention held last June 14-16. In fact, there are a couple of "Vampire Diaries" fans who were hoping as well that the two characters will develop a relationship on the show.

In real life, the 24-year-old actress may not mind dating the older Matt Davis considering the age difference between her and Ian Somerhalder. However, Matt is expected to compete with other possible suitors in capturing Nina's attention and affection.

Nina Dobrev currently shares a friendship with Matt Davis and she appears to look up to him as a big brother. The actress has not given any comment yet on Matt's confession about his admiration for her.

On the other hand, previous reports claim that Ian Somerhalder is already moving on from Nina Dobrev with "Vampire Diaries" co-star Malese Jow when the two were at the 2013 BloodyCon in Germany. The 22-year-old actress appeared on the show's first three seasons as a teenager vampire named Anna.

At present time, Nina Dobrev is moving on from her split with Ian Somerhalder and she was spotted several times hitting the beach for a fun vacation. The actress is scheduled to return on the "Vampire Diaries" set and work professionally with ex-boyfriend Ian for the fifth season of the TV series.

The upcoming film titled "Let's Be Cops" also keeps Nina Dobrev's work schedule busy. The movie is scheduled for a 2014 release starring Damon Wayans Jr., James D'Arcy and Jake Johnson.
