Nintendo may be brewing announcements for Nintendo NX as new patent sighted for possible health-related device
If a new teaser from a known tipster is to be believed, then Nintendo may be gearing up for an announcement on its much-anticipated Nintendo NX. This is due to the time limit on the non-disclosure agreement will already be lifted this month, which means that developers can also reportedly talk about the games that are in development for the Nintendo NX.
According to My Nintendo News, the tip was from NeoGAF poster 10K, who had also hinted that the announcement may also include the actual name of the console. However, this may all be speculation at this point, as 10K himself did not do any verification checks on the source.
Hopefully, at the very least Nintendo will already reveal the name of the Nintendo NX console. The company had promised that this year will be when it will start rolling out details about the new device.
This is not the only leak that has been related to the Nintendo NX. In an earnings call on AMD’s Q1 2016 earnings, it appears that the company had hinted at the possible release window for Nintendo’s upcoming console. It appears that the company is looking at an increase in revenue by 15 percent come the second quarter of the year.
This was connected to three semi-custom system-on-chip, which will supposedly be used in the gaming sector to bring in the revenue, Express reported. The new chips will allegedly be used for some of the leading consoles in the years, and since there was a mention of “three” consoles, the source speculated that it may be possible for the Nintendo NX could be one of those three.
AMD has not confirmed this particular bit of information, so it’s best to take this with a grain of salt as well. Finally, piling on top of the different patent findings linked to the Nintendo NX is the newest U-shaped device.
This may be one of the oddest filings to date, as it is a horseshoe-shaped device that had been filed way back in 2014. According to The Verge, the new patent appears to be meant for a motion-based controller with fitness-related sensors. It may be following in the footsteps of the Wii controller, as the patent suggested that it is a training system that is for exercise and health.
As such, suggestions for the U-shaped device being a health-related gadget has been the most supported speculation for now. The other toss-up as to what the new patented design may be is a controller, though this seem to be a more unusual design compared to the previous filing that comes with a screen on the actual controller.
Of course, all of these speculations can lead to nothing, as patents do not always take fruit. But the timings of the different reveals come at a very opportune time, and all that’s left is for Nintendo to make things official.
