Nintendo NX news, reveal & announcement: Missing Oct. 21 date could spell doom for console
Nintendo NX is expected to be revealed during a Nintendo Direct event on Oct. 21, Friday. However, even with only three days left for the event to take off, Nintendo is still frustratingly silent and has not released any official statement regarding the console.
Nintendo NX is one of the most talked about consoles currently and multiple theories and rumours are circling the Internet as to the specs and features of the console. Nintendo has neither denier nor confirmed these reports. This has led fans to believe that the company is also going to miss the Oct. 21 date.
If that’s going to happen then fans may lose interest in the console completely as they have been waiting for quite some time, writes Express. With hours ticking by, the Oct. 21 reveal seems less likely.
Apart from the release rumours, another rumour making rounds is that the Nintendo NX console will be revealed alongside “Beyond Good and Evil 2.” Reports have claimed that the game will be a Nintendo NX exclusive.
Other leaks have revealed that a Super Mario title will also launch with the console with four titles on deck. The Nintendo NX console is expected to be priced at US$299 (AU$390) though there will be a bundle available for US$399 (AU$520).
However, this $300-$350 price tag seems a bit pricey considering the Nintendo NX won’t be as powerful as its competitors. The price tag places the console just below Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One. Nintendo may also go back using cartridges instead of discs, writes iTech Post.
The Nintendo NX console is expected to arrive in a hybrid form with detachable controllers. Users will be able to transform the device from a home-docked version to a totally portable one. The console is anticipated to come with 4K compatibility and some big game compatibility.
